Vicki Knott P.Eng
President and Co-founder
Vicki comes from an operational background at TransCanada Pipelines where she worked in commercial operation, process control engineering, and most importantly, spent significant time in the control room. She is a chemical engineer with a special interest in system wide operations and control. She sees liquid pipelines as a single operational process to be optimized in real time by providing the control room operators with the best tools possible. Utilizing her tenacious spirit she is excited to provide engineered software solutions to ensure that the industries front line people (control room operators) can operate liquids pipelines in the safest, most profitable way.
Roger holds a PhD from UBC and has 20+ combined years of experience in oil pipelines process control. Notably, he has pioneered process control standards for Enbridge Pipelines and has made significant contributions to TransCanada Pipelines liquids operations. Roger’s analytical skills drive him to ensure maximum quality and operability in all Crux OCM products. In Roger’s past experience, he has seen the increases in efficiency and profits that advanced control solutions have brought to other industries and he is excited to bring these benefits to oil and
Fernando is an ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) with over 28 years of experience as a process automation consultant. He has developed process control strategies, completed variability optimization projects as well as process control optimization projects for many industry verticals. Fernando’s desire to create maximum productivity for organizations is well applied to the liquids pipelines industry though Crux OCM. Fernando has seen first hand the improvements in operability and increases in efficiency that advanced control solutions can provide and is thrilled to be on a team working to improve the oil and liquids pipeline industry.

Matt has been seen a few sides of oil and gas business over the last 10 years. He has been on the operations side, running remote manufacturing facilities throughout North America, to being on the front line of an Oil and Gas OCTG company operating in Western Canada. Matt holds close to heart a team based selling mentality and although, as a customer, he may be your initial point on contact at Crux he will ensure to involve the individual’s necessary to solve your current need in an efficient and effective manner. You won’t just get to know Matt – you get to know us all. Matt knows that Crux has a solution the industry needs to hear about and he is excited to share this solution with you.
As well as serving on the Advisory Board of Crux, Mr. Marcotte will be fulfilling the role of Vice President, Corporate Development and CFO on an interim basis. Curtis holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) professional designation, and is a seasoned finance, commercial viability, and economics professional. He has worked with and for small and medium size enterprises as well as large organizations, including roles as VP, Corporate Finance, Director, Commercial Banking and Senior Advisor, Business Development. Over the last ten years as an industry consultant, Mr. Marcotte has served as the CFO for startup organizations and continues to provide Corporate Development and Financial and Acquisition Advisory Services to entities in E&P, energy services and midstream industries along with non-energy related clients. Curtis has seen and experienced much in his more than twenty-seven (27) years in Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and Industry roles. Mr. Marcotte continues to be an active member of the Zone Startups Calgary mentorship program as well as serving on Foothills Medical Centre’s Fund Development Council, part of Calgary Health Trust.
Mr. Terrance E. Kutryk was President and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Pipeline. Prior to this he had an extensive career at Husky Energy culminating as Senior Vice President, Midstream & Refined Products. He held the position of Chairman of the Board for Sultran Ltd., Pacific Coast Terminals and the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association. Mr. Kutryk maintains an active management, operations and due diligence consulting practice and in addition to his advisory capacity with Crux OCM he sits on the Alberta Government Natural Gas Advisory Panel and the advisory boards for Alberta WaterSmart Solutions, the University of Calgary Haskayne Centre for Advanced Supply Chain Management & Logistics and the board of VantEdge O&G. He has Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Calgary and a Petroleum Land Management certificate from Mount Royal University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds designations from the Investment Dealers Association of Canada. Mr. Kutryk is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Petroleum Society of Canada, CFA Institute and the Calgary Society of Financial Analysts.
As Vice President, Pipeline and Industrial Services, Mr. Kelly is responsible for the financial, operational and safety performance of Trican Pipeline and Industrial Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Trican Well Service Ltd. Prior to joining Trican, Mr. Kelly has over 20 years of Energy Industry experience and a successful track record of leading multi-million dollar businesses within General Electric. At General Electric, Mr. Kelly’s career spanned geographies including: Canada, USA, Mexico, Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has held increasingly significant roles including: Engineering, Field Services, Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Six Sigma, Operations, Sales, and Executive Leadership, where he culminated his career as the President of GE Oil & Gas Canada Inc. Mr. Kelly continues to be an active member of the Zone Startups Calgary mentorship program, is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada, and a member of the Canadian Energy Executive.
